The relevance of value perception in understanding customer behavior is crucial for business success. Consumers are becoming pickier, looking for products that reflect their believes, lifestyle, and goals. Businesses that understand the importance of creating a favorable perception of value can thereby differentiate themselves in the market, increasing customer satisfaction and ultimately transcending the constraints of transactional relationships.

What consumers value, however, can be difficult to pinpoint and emotionally complex. How can business leaders and teams effectively manage and deliver value for their clients? The first step is to define the values a company can create. In this sense, 60 types of value were identified and classified into four different quadrants. None of them holds greater importance than the other; they are simply a classification to organize the types of values into groups with similar characteristics. The categories are: Social, Personal, Performance and Technical.
